Makai turns 7!

For Makai's birthday this year he did not ask everyday for two months leading up to his birthday how many more days it was till his birthday.  Makai loves to shop for toys.  He walks down the isles and just examines and looks and enjoys himself.  For this reason I have let him pick out his own gifts of his birthday instead of picking them out myself.  He enjoys it and it takes stress off of me.

This year he again choose Lego's.  Star Wars Legos.  I honestly can't believe our little man is 7.  Time is flying by.  He is a great kid.  He lives in an imaginary world a lot of the time and still struggles to sit still for any amount of time.  He always has some battle going on in his head.  His teacher has trouble getting him to do his work at school.  He likes to talk.  But he can read like a champ!  He loves to read book and will do so for hours.  Although his school teacher struggles to keep him on task, his church teachers love him.  They say he make them laugh every week.  For example:  One week they asked Makai if he would have been scared to be Ammon to which he replied, "No.  I just would have taken out my AK-47 and blasted all those bad guys."  His mind is pretty sharp.  Monty was talking to him about how he was concerned that when he plays video games he likes to be the bad guy.  He simply said, "Well Dad, bad guys think they are good guys and the bad guys think the good guy are the bad guys.  It all depends on how you look at it."  He has lost four teeth with one that is wiggling so much and he won't let me pull it.  He is afraid it will hurt.  He loves to cuddle and if I would sleep with him every night he would be a happy camper.  He loves video games.  He thinks he is part fish because he loves the water.  He doesn't like things that are scary--like scary movies.  He wants nothing to do with them.  We love this boy so much.  We are so glad he is in our family!!  Happy Birthday Makai!!

Fuentes visit

The Fuentes came to visit and I was really bad at taking pictures of their visit.  We didn't do much as Monty was gone studying for finals, the kids were happy playing video games and it was COLD.  We did go to the gingerbread display at the Winter Quarters visitors center and had fun looking at things creative people make.  It was a fun visit.  Sorry we were not more entertaining, but thanks for coming!!

My helper

Each year for Christmas my mom use to make bread as a gift to our friends.  I try to do the same and this year I had a helper.  He learned how to braid this year and it has come in handy!  Thanks for your help buddy.

Funny Makai conversations

Mom and Trey we're having a car never station about what some churches believe. Particularly that babies are born sinners.
Makai "I don't think babies are born bad mom."
Mom "That is right Makai. babies are just cute and are not accountable.  In fact, you are not even accountable yet Makai be a se you are only six."
Makai "I never want the be a canabal mom!  That is nasty. I don't want to ever eat humans."😂

While talking to the kids about the Light the world challenge for tomorrow the topic is Jesus healed the sick and so can you.  We discussed that the boys hs can pray for people who are sick.  One of the people we talked about was me.  Now that I am able to lower my dose of prednisone I am having some joint pain in one of my elbows.

Makai asks, "Why are you taking pregnitzone. Are you trying to get pregnant or something?"😂.

Thanks for the laughs Makai.

Thanksgiving 2016

Hard to believe we are already to Thanksgiving!  We started the morning with the three older boys, Dad and our friend Johnny going to pass food plates out to individuals who had signed up for a meal Thanksgiving morning.  They were assigned a senior living facility and found the recipients very thankful for the meal.
Best way to spend Thanksgiving morning!

We decided to do a crab boil instead of a traditional Thanksgiving meal this year.

We had our friend Johnny over for Thanksgiving.  He is from Saipan and here in hopes to get into medical school next year doing the same program Monty did last year.  It was VERY interesting to listen to his stories about growing up on Saipan.  He said all over the island there are remnants of several wars.  Growing up he'd dig around and find grenades, bullets, bunkers, and they even have a buried tank on their property and he can play a mean Ukulele!
Over a year ago when I found out about the MOVIE Moana I knew we'd want to see it.  When I found out it came out on Thanksgiving I told everyone we were going.  The movie did not disappoint!  When it ended I told Monty I could have watched it again right after watching it the first time.  Thanks Disney!!

ROLL STORM!!!

Tyler enjoyed playing football this year.  The JV team went undefeated as well as the Varsity team.  Because it is a Class B school, the teams tend to be smaller, so they have all the JV players attend all the Varsity games.  This year the Varsity team won the state championship.  It was a pretty exciting night as they got to play at Memorial Stadium.  We didn't attend the game as it was FREEZING cold that night and raining, but thankfully it was televised.  Fun to be part of a winning team!!  It was a pretty amazing game with a final score of 34-32!  The funniest part was here at home we were wondering how the announcer would pronounce Tyler's name.  Of course he had no problem with Tyler--then there was a couple second pause followed by ALANOA.  We all laughed.
Congrats BUD!
