Doctor's visit...

So, the other day I got a letter in the mail saying Kory was due for a shot. I just about died. I made him an appointment on the same day that Trey had his 1yr well baby check and then didn't tell Kory he was going to get a shot because...well, the kid gets a little emotional when he hears the word. Last night at dinner I told Monty, "K-O-R-Y has to get a S-H-O-T tomorrow." Monty then says, "Kory you know you have to get a shot tomorrow!" HELLO--I spelled it for a reason! Anyway, after the tears and screams Monty talked to Kory and got him all ready.(I was actually kind of glad he talked to him about it...it did save me some grief today.) Monty told Kory he could get any toy he wanted if he was brave, so he told Monty what he wanted and I had to laugh! Yeah...little did dad know that the toy he was talking about was a $50 toy!! (Thankfully they didn't have anymore at Target when we went, so he picked another toy that was much more reasonably priced.) So, Kory ended up getting a full physical along side Trey. This proved a challenge because we hadn't prepared him for an anemia poke. So I told him what they were going to do and he reacted in a not so brave way. Shortly after, Trey got his anemia poke--no reaction at all! He was so tough. It totally made me laugh and it shocked Kory! After Kory saw Trey didn't cry--he stopped crying! Thanks Trey! Then Kory had to get his shot. He screamed again! So dramatic! I don't mean to sound insensitive, but I know my boys and I know when they are acting! Kory was totally acting! I think he remembers Kyle's reaction and just figures that's what he is suppose to do...who knows. Trey cried for his 4 shots, but I don't blame him--the nurse did a horrible job! When we lived in Cheyenne those nurses had shots down to a tee! By the time my babies could cry from the first one, they were done with all four! This lady took like 4 minutes! Poor Trey! Glad that visit is over! Oh, Trey is 24lbs, 30inches tall and has a head circumference of 19!:) Kory is 34lbs and 38 inches tall.Kory is proud of his two band aids--in a shy way! He was embarrassed to take this picture, but couldn't wait to see it when I was done.
Our brave Trey!
I don't know why they had to give him each shot in a different appendage, but they did. Poor kid is going to be sore tomorrow!

That pic of Trey reminds me of a poem by shell silverstein called bandaids :) Emjae is coming up for her 2 month shots :( but it will be all okay.

All I can honestly say is..... TOO CUTE. I like the part where Kory stopped crying when he realized Trey wasn't crying. I can just picture Kory thinking to himself, "TREY...DO YOU KNOW WHAT JUST HAPPENED RIGHT NOW???" And then Trey thinking, "Kory, why are you screaming???" Your boys are just too cute.

Oh, I hated that 4 shot visit with Emma. Somehow you always feel horrible, even though you know they have to get it

Aren't shots the worst? My kids always did really good with them (too scared to even cry), but it killed me to have to watch. I love how Monty didn't quite get the hint. That sounds like something that would happen to me.
