Never cry wolf!

Kyle is our dramatic son. He tends to over exaggerate his emotions, so you never know exactly how bad something really is. About 4 days ago we thought the kid was seriously ill and we were making plans to take him into the er. Then we mentioned to him the idea of playing video games and he was suddenly better! We were totally baffled. So, today Kyle was complaining that he was sick. I checked his head and he didn't have a fever, so I was having trouble being sympathetic. I told him his stomach hurt because he didn't eat his lunch and if he ate dinner he'd feel better. He wouldn't eat and wouldn't eat. After getting upset with him he finally started eating. Anyway...to make a horrible story short...he really was sick! As I was helping him shower I felt bad that I hadn't been more sympathetic to him earlier, but then I stopped beating myself up and explained to him that it's hard to tell when he's really sick because well, "He cries wolf." Lesson learned? Probably not!

Ahh, poor Kyle. But seriously I doubt that lesson will be learned either. :) Hope he feels better soon. It's so sad and hard when the little ones are sick.

Lesson learned! Great story. Sounds like a sharing time lesson. :)

Your boys are so hilarious. First Tyler with his tooth, Kory with his shot, and now Kyle not feeling good. My gosh sis... you really did need a vacation.

That is a hard one with kids. LIndsay complained of a stomach ache 80% of the time before school every morning. I got better as the year went on knowing what the problem is. You do feel bad though if you force them to do something sick.
