Officially an Adult

In most states 18 is considered an adult, but not Nebraska.  Nebraska requires you to be 19 to be considered an adult.  So...this man is now an adult.  For dinner, he wanted to have a lunch plate.  Since we are all stuck inside we had plenty of time to make a delicious meal.  We had 'home church' earlier that morning and then Dad and Kyle made some delicious teriyaki chicken and chicken Katsu and I made some mac-salad and a recess cake per his request.  Kory made the katsu sauce and it was perfect. I think Tyler was happy with his meal...it tasted better than L&L's in my opinion!
For dessert he wanted a Recess cake so I made a chocolate cake with peanut butter cream cheese frosting.  It turned out perfect, and with a little ice cream we were all in Heaven.
This was a bitter/sweet birthday for Tyler as we know he isn't going to be here next year for his birthday or the year after that most likely.  He has his mission papers in--he is just waiting to meet with the Stake President.  Even though the MTC in Provo is closed down right now they are still calling new missionaries and new missionaries are being trained online.  Hopefully by the time Tyler leaves this will all be over.  We are excited to see where he goes and I know he is excited to serve.  This is a good step for him.  I couldn't be more proud of him, but I still cry a tear every once in a while.  However, now missionaries can call home once a week, so I hope to hear from him at least once a month!  Love you Tyler.  It's been a wonderful 19 years.  My world changed the moment I saw you.  I needed you.
