Our fan quit on us as well as the light and we kinda need light in the front room. Plus, with Summer coming we know we'll need a working fan. There isn't anyone who wanted to do this project, but together we managed to get a new ceiling fan installed. Dad did the most, with Tyler being a strong second. Neither of them are huge FANS of heights, so I commend them for their diligence. 
We not have a working light fixture!!
