April 2021

Back to Utah I headed for the 3rd time.  This visit was full of emotion.  I was in the middle of doing a long term substitute position and so my schedule was packed and because I have issues with asking for help I didn't feel like I could miss any school.  Ticket prices were not exactly cheap the weekend of my Grandma's funeral I wasn't sure I'd be able to make it, but I also really didn't want to miss is.  My grandpas funeral brought me a lot of closure, so I knew my grandma's funeral would do the same.  However, I also have issues spending money, so to go to the funeral I'd have to spend money and miss work.  Monty encouraged me to go to the funeral and found a ticket that although was expensive would only require me to miss one hour of school.  My parents picked me up in Vegas and we drove to Fillmore.  That was fun to be able to talk and drive.  Everyone on the Peterson side was able to make it to the funeral, so that was very special.  I think that is a credit to the fact that everyone loved Grandma and knew Grandma loved them.

I was lucky enough to get to do Savvy's hair before the funeral.  Savvy was really run to talk to and her hair is super fun to play with.  I loved every second of it.

Grandma's funeral was on April 10th and the day couldn't have been more beautiful.  It was even a little warm.  Is I look at this picture I am reminded how beautiful it was.  The flowers were also all so beautiful.  The casket was perfect for Grandma and had beautiful pink flowers on it.  Whoever did her makeup and hair did a wonderful job.  She looked so nice.  And she looked at peace.

After the funeral I went with Greg and his family to sprinkle some sand from pacific grove over their resting place.  His son Carl got a picture with the tombstone and since he is named after him it was fitting.

Peterson Girls started pretty small, but wow...how they have grown.

Peterson Boys--minus my boys.  But it was too much to pay to get my family out.

Peterson cousins
I wish we could have spent more time together, but it was fun to see everyone and catch up. I'm sure Grandma and Grandpa were both with us that day.

Makai is taller than me I think in this picture.  I can't remember if this was taken because he got a hair cut, or id this was when he outgrew me.  Both happened this year!  None of the other boys outgrew me until after they were 12--Makai however outgrew me at 11 and 1/2.
Trey being forced to get a hair cut!  Do you think he needed one?  For the record he liked the outcome.  I didn't take much off.  Just enough to keep it out of his eyes after it curls.
I think this was just a night of milk and donuts.  Sometimes, families just need to have desert and enjoy talking.
Kyle decided he wanted to go to Prom, so he made this sign and bought her Chick fil a.  I thought this was a really cute sign.
For some reason the boys just like this corner.  It is not uncommon for me to find boys curled up in this corner of the house.  We have 6 couches, but this corner is just a comfort spot.  On this day...Kory was content as can be surfing in the corner.
