4, 2, K!

Another school year has officially begun. Yesterday was Tyler and Kyle's first day. They were super excited. The night before we went to their school to meet their teachers and find their classrooms, so they kind of knew what to expect. I have never seen a school set up like theirs is. The classrooms are all open. So, you don't have a room per say it's more like an area. The classroom are separated by bookshelves. We asked the teachers if this tends to get loud and they say that it surprisingly works. After school we asked the boys and they said it didn't bother them. Interestingly enough Kyle and Kory could scream out each others names and talk during school. Today was Kory's first day. I felt bad when he didn't get to go yesterday, but they broke the Kindergartners up for their first day and the first half of the alphabet went yesterday and the second half went today.
Kory was so ready for school! We picked out his outfit last night. He woke up this morning, got dressed, ate and even brushed his hair!! When I went to drop him off his brothers were so excited to have him with them. He walked right into class like he'd done it a million times before. I feel like I've arrived as a mother--I didn't even cry! Well, I did get chocked up, but I was mostly excited. He is prepared for Kindergarten. He knows his letters, can read pretty well. He's even good a basic math. Knowing that he's ready made it easier. Wow, our little guy is growing up. Okay, now I'm crying! Love you Kory! I'm glad your big day finally arrived!:)
Trey was pretty upset that he didn't get to go to school yesterday. He wore his backpack all day. We did a little preschool with him here at home. We worked on the letter 'T' which is a very important letter as it's the first one in his name. Today we made cookies during Makai's nap. He seems more content today just being in preschool. He says, "This house is my school!" I told him that was right. I think he's important enough to be his personal teacher. Time to get another kid ready for the world.

"This house is my school" is the best line! Sounds like Trey listened to Elder Perry's conference talk! Your kids are all so smart. I love those "first day of school" pictures. Good luck to everyone in the coming school year. They'll do great!
