Hello, Goodbye

 Three years ago we came to Phoenix for Monty's residency program. When we came we hadn't sold out house yet it Omaha, we didn't have a house here in Phoenix and we just kind of took a step into the darkness. Kory stayed in Omaha over the summer to work and live in the house and the rest of us lived in an AirBNB for 6 weeks.  We had only our suitcases and a few cars.  We both started working and hoped for the best. 6 weeks after moving here we had sold our house in Omaha and purchased a house in San Tan Valley, an hour from the hospitals Monty would be working at, but only about 15 minutes from the school I was working at.  We arrived the week of Hello, Goodbye and 3 years seemed a ways away, but here we are--three short years later we attended our last Hello, Goodbye.  This time we were not saying hello to a wonderful residency program, but instead it was time to say goodbye.  Monty has grown a lot in these last 3 years and is now a full attendee.  He's accepted a job in Washington State and soon our next adventure will begin.  It was really special to have all of our boys together for Hello, Goodbye this year.  Tyler flew out Friday night and left early Sunday morning.  This was the first time we'd been together in over a year and a half and it was a special evening.  We've been on this journey as a family for almost 11 years.  8 years in Omaha and 3 yrs here in Phoenix.  Congratulations Monty!  We couldn't be more proud of you and all your hard work.  

Each graduating resident got an award. This was Monty's award! He does stay calm.  Also, while they were talking about him they also called him, "The 'Gentle' Giant".  They talked about Monty's special way with people and how he makes them feel comfortable and explains things well to them so they can understand what is going on. They said all his patients really like him. He's finally in the right carrier--healing and helping people.

It is a tradition for each resident to get a bobble head of themselves.  Monty's was pretty good, but his coloring was off a bit. Nevertheless, it is a fun memory of residency.

Couldn't be more proud of this guy!  He worked so hard and is a blessing to his patients.  I'm lucky to be by his side.
