First Day of School!!

Another school year begins.  Tyler is a sophomore in High School.  Kyle is in 8th grade with Kory in 6th.  They are both at the middle school.  I am working at their middle school doing half of the day in the library and the other half supervising study halls.  Trey is in 4th grade and Makai is in 1st!!  They are all growing up so fast, but are growing up to be fine young men that we are very proud of.

White Coat Ceremony

Today was Monty's White Coat Ceremony.  He is officially in Medical School!!  His dream for many years.  I think he looks pretty natural in his white coat--like it was always meant to be.  We must enjoy the journey.
The day before Monty said, "I hope I ordered the right size."  So, I was worried the whole time it wasn't going to fit.

It fit rather nicely.

The Dean asking his name one more time.

All the boys, minus Kory who is at Scout camp.

Crazy Makai.  Keeps our lives interesting.

Monty with the other post back students who got into Creighton.

Congratulations Dad!!  WE are so proud of you!!

The Boys thought this statue was so cool.  Kyle got an awesome picture of Tyler.  Notice, Tyler is jumping!

Fort Collins Temple

Nana came for a visit about two days after we closed on our house.  Thankfully, she didn't mind that things were kinda in disarray.  While she was here we decided to go on a trip.  We hadn't been to Fort Collins since we left over a year ago.  With a couple days off we decided to return.  The weather here was HUMID and although Nana might have lived in Samoa for years it has been a while and the humidity was just no fun.  The older boys were at scout camp during part of the week.  How they survived I will never know.  I will say they were more than happy to see us on Friday night and come home a night early.  We decided we needed to get away.  The weather in Fort Collins was PERFECT.  We were pretty excited to see the Fort Collins temple competed.

While Nana was here she sewed the boys all new ie faitaga's.  They looked pretty cool all dressed alike.  We enjoyed seeing our friends again.  Although it was a quick trip we realized that it will always hold a special place in a hearts--no matter what.

Day to Play

The summer was pretty crazy.  Most of the summer was spent packing to prepare for our move.  We also had the boys in summer school, so I could work at the school.  I am not very good at playing.  One afternoon however, we decided to take the day and go to the new splash pad at the zoo.  It was a pretty hot and humid day here, so it was worth a shot to cool off.  The older boys were not so sure they could have fun in a KID splash pad, but they were proved wrong.  They all had a blast.  Oh, how I love these boys!!  I can't imagine anything more wonderful than being a mom to these 5 handsome studs!!

Trey Turns 9

Trey turned 9 this week.  Lucky for him it was the first day of Summer Vacation!  He didn't want to have cake for his birthday this year.  Instead he wanted Hamburgers and Milk Shakes!  I will say the Milkshake was a welcomed treat.  For his birthday he picked out his own gifts.  A scope for his rubber band gun he got last year at Mount Rushmore,  A video game from Game stop, a Miami Dolphins watch, and of course no birthday is complete without a LEGO set.
We can't believe this boy is 9!  He is doing well.  He is such a good singer!  I love to hear him sing.  Often Kyle or Tyler will play the ukulele and Trey will sing.  He has a very good ear for singing and is great at memorizing words to songs.  He is very passionate about his ideas.  If he believes something he sticks to it!!  We are blessed to have him.  He shares a room with Makai and is a good brother.  Each morning when I go to wake them up Makai has crawled up into Trey's bed at some point during the night.  Although he doesn't love it, Trey is a good sport about it. Thanks Trey for your kindness!  Happy 9th Birthday!!

Kindergarten Graduation

Makai is done with Kindergarten!  He had a pretty awesome Kindergarten year.  His teacher, Mrs. Brockhous is the best Kindergarten teacher ever!  I was so impressed with her and all she did to make learning fun and exciting for these kids.  Everything from a rocket ship in the classroom to pirate ship adventures.  She even invited the K-Kids and their families over to her house at the end of the year for an ice cream celebration.  I feel that Makai having her as a teaching was such a great blessing.  It made him entering Kindergarten a lot less difficult.  Some people just have gifts, and she has a gift of teaching.  We need more teachers like her.

Michael Jordan

Kory had a wax museum project at school.  He choose to be Michael Jordan.  He had to write a biography of Michael Jordan and then memorize it and gave it several people.  96 people in fact.  He did a great job.

We bought him a jersey, but a week before the program we got a notice that it was out of stock.  I thought I'd ask a friend if she happened to have a jersey and she did!  Thanks Jessie!!  She mailed it and we were back in business!

He did a great job!  I learned a lot about Michael Jordan.  Great Job Kory!!
