Winter Formal.

The week Kyle turned 16 he was asked to Winter formal by a girl in his seminary class.  She was really sweet and made him a sign and asked him to go with her.  They had a really good time together.  He enjoyed that she was willing to dance and have fun.  We were a little worried because he forgot to get his permission slip signed from his high school, but thankfully on the way he got the phone number for one of his assistant principals and he told their principal that Kyle was a good kid.
The family for his date made the night really fun.  The parents made them a nice dinner and their son even dressed up as a waiter and took their orders.  The parents said Kyle was the perfect date.  I was proud of him for being a gentleman!
Kyle with the waiter!  Two handsome boys!
I actually didn't get a picture of him with his date, but I need to get one from his phone.  She was a very sweet girl and I'm glad they had fun together.

Do you wanna build a snowman!?

Makai wanted to build a snowman.  The only downside was the snow was not good snowman snow!  However, we tried our best and Makai was happy with the results!!  He turned out pretty cute if you ask me.

Kyle's sweet 16

Kyle has waited 16 yrs for this day!!
He was happy with his gifts.  Monty got him $40 all in ones.  He loved the gift!  Monty is creative!

All he wanted was a basic brownie with Rookie Road Ice Cream.  He did ask for Manapua for dinner though that took a while to make, but they turned out perfect.  I'm glad I could make them for him because I love him.  He makes me smile everyday!

A card from Mammy and Grandmpop.  Thanks for the gift!
Kyle is usually a pretty happy kid!!  He adds a lot of joy to our family!  He is sincere and real.  He hates that he is smaller than he'd like to be.  But, he works hard.  He tries to be a peace maker in our house.

For his birthday he wanted to have lunch with all his friends at school.  We ordered Cane's and he loved having lunch with his football buddies.  He's very much a people person.  He is a joy to be around.

Christmas Break Fun

We didn't go anywhere this summer because I was studying for the Praxis test and Dad is in Medical School and was studying.  We did spend one day in Omaha and enjoyed our time together.  Although it was kind of cold, we had a fun day wondering downtown.
Some fun at the botanical gardens

One of the houses at the Kaynsville Tabernacle gingerbread festival in Omaha.  Pretty good detail.

He ate this in about 3 seconds!!
An outing isn't an outing without food.  These boys are always hungry!!
We always have fun together.  We went into one old toy shop.  There was an area that was all Star Wars stuff.  Makai said, "I wanna die and come back as a ghost and haunt this store".

Sweet Makai

One night I was enjoying cleaning.  Sometimes I just love to clean.  During Christmas Break we stayed up way to late every night.  One night I was up cleaning and Makai came up to draw.  He then wrote me a sweet note that melted my heart.
Stay hydrated mom!  So sweet!!   The water was divine Makai.  Thank you!!

Christmas FOOD!!

The Saturday before Christmas we had Pizza and Root Beer Floats.  We were invited to Christmas Eve at someone else's house, but still wanted to stay true to the pizza and root beer float tradition.  I'll forever want pizza and root beer floats during Christmas.

We are lucky to have friends here in Omaha.  On Sunday our neighbors Paul and Pat had us over for dinner.
Pat loves Monty.  She made such a sweet spread.

And can you believe there was more!

It always looks so inviting.  I sat by this tray for about an hour.  It didn't disappoint!
We had a wonderful dinner with Paul and Pat.

On Christmas Eve we went to another friends house.  They had a spread like I'd never seen.
It was food heaven!!  We took home enough food for a week.  It was such a fun evening.  We played games, ate, and went to watch Christmas lights.  It was a perfect Christmas Eve.
How we didn't all gain 500 pounds is a Christmas miracle!

Makai turns 9

Makai has always loved his birthday!  This week was no exception!  He received a box from Mammy and Grandpop several days before his birthday and he carried it around for days.  It was pretty cute.  He knew there was a lego inside and couldn't wait to open it.
Box he carried around for a week

See...another room, another floor!

He loves to read.  I've never seen a kid dissect a book in the way he does  This book came with his Lego from Mammy and Grandpop.

He loved putting the Lego together and

9 years and still amazing!
Makai loves Legos, he loves book and he loves food. He loves to play, never cleans up after himself and hates chores.  But, he also has never met someone he doesn't like.  He can play with anyone.  Has a soft heart and loves.  We love him.  He's a blessing to our family.  He's a big friendly giant.
