Makai's Music Program

Makai is in the third grade and he had a music program this week.  He totally melted me heart getting ready from his program.  He was allowed to wear anything he wanted, so he went upstairs and got dressed by himself.  He wore a suit, a plaid shirt and a plaid bow tie.  It didn't really match, but I didn't have the heart to tell him because he felt so spiffy.  He even went to put a napkin in his pocket, but decided to switch it out with a dinosaur before the program.  During the program he was looking for us and so happy we were there to watch him.  It was really cold, -15 that night, but we braved the weather because we love Makai!!

He was so worried about spilling on his suit and being late.  Makai is never worried about making a mess, so this was sweet.  He wanted to get there on time.  

While walking into the school he even held the door open for a girl in his class.  It melted me heart.  He wanted to be a gentlemen!! 

Every Saturday is BASKETBALL!!

Trey and Kory both play for the YMCA.  Both are enjoying their seasons.  So far their teams are doing great!  It's fun to watch them play.  It's a roller coaster ride some weeks.  Trey often feels horrible about himself if he doesn't have a perfect game.  However, this week he scored 6 points and was okay with not being perfect!  It was a wonderful.  Kory played an awesome game this week.  His three point shot was on point.  He scored over 20 points in one of his game!  He gets his skills from his Dad.  Makai loves going to the games--can't you tell!  Tyler was a work so he missed the second game, but came to support the first game.  The older boys are always sweet and come to support their brothers. 

Tyler and Kyle have jobs!!

Well, as you get older you get more responsibility!  We felt like it was time for Tyler and Kyle to get jobs.  Kyle was more eager to get a job than Tyler, but Tyler was willing.  They went to a job interview at the local Baker's grocery store and both got hired on the spot.  Kyle works as a bagger/cashier and Tyler works in the Checklist deptartment.  It is so fun to go to Baker's and see them working.  I'm so proud of them!! 

Winter Formal.

The week Kyle turned 16 he was asked to Winter formal by a girl in his seminary class.  She was really sweet and made him a sign and asked him to go with her.  They had a really good time together.  He enjoyed that she was willing to dance and have fun.  We were a little worried because he forgot to get his permission slip signed from his high school, but thankfully on the way he got the phone number for one of his assistant principals and he told their principal that Kyle was a good kid. 
The family for his date made the night really fun.  The parents made them a nice dinner and their son even dressed up as a waiter and took their orders.  The parents said Kyle was the perfect date.  I was proud of him for being a gentleman!

I actually didn't get a picture of him with his date, but I need to get one from his phone.  She was a very sweet girl and I'm glad they had fun together. 

Do you wanna build a snowman!?

Makai wanted to build a snowman.  The only downside was the snow was not good snowman snow!  However, we tried our best and Makai was happy with the results!!  He turned out pretty cute if you ask me.

Kyle's sweet 16

Kyle has waited 16 yrs for this day!! 

He was happy with his gifts.  Monty got him $40 all in ones.  He loved the gift!  Monty is creative!  

All he wanted was a basic brownie with Rookie Road Ice Cream.  He did ask for Manapua for dinner though that took a while to make, but they turned out perfect.  I'm glad I could make them for him because I love him.  He makes me smile everyday!

Kyle is usually a pretty happy kid!!  He adds a lot of joy to our family!  He is sincere and real.  He hates that he is smaller than he'd like to be.  But, he works hard.  He tries to be a peace maker in our house.  

For his birthday he wanted to have lunch with all his friends at school.  We ordered Cane's and he loved having lunch with his football buddies.  He's very much a people person.  He is a joy to be around.   

Christmas Break Fun

We didn't go anywhere this summer because I was studying for the Praxis test and Dad is in Medical School and was studying.  We did spend one day in Omaha and enjoyed our time together.  Although it was kind of cold, we had a fun day wondering downtown.

We always have fun together.  We went into one old toy shop.  There was an area that was all Star Wars stuff.  Makai said, "I wanna die and come back as a ghost and haunt this store".
