So, tomorrow is the day we are driving down to get my van! I've been without a car for a week...except Friday when I kept the car because of a Primary In-service dinner I had to get ready for and Monty had to take a taxi to get to it because he got off work after it already started, and Sunday when I had to wake the boys up at 3:45 to get Monty to work by 4:00, so I could have the car to get to church. (I must say...they were awesome about it. Not one of them cried. I explained to them the night before what I was going to do and so when I came in to wake them up...they all just cooperated and did it! They are such great boys.) Anyway, I'm happy to get my car back. Also...I must say...it was such a blessing it broke down when it did. I was planning a trip up to see my grandparents next week with my dad. It could have happened then...in the middle of the Nevada dessert!
And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the son of God, that ye must build your foundation. Heleman 5:12

Tomorrow! Tomorrow! I love you...tomorrow...
Last Thursady Monty had to go down to a grand opening of a Target store in Thousand Oaks. Everytime there is a grand opening all the STL's from the district have to go to the store to show support. Since it's a three hour drive the boys and I decided to go with him to spend at least the drive together. About two and a half hours into the drive my van made a funny sound! It sounded kind of like we were dragging something under our car. Anyway, we pulled of and took it to the nearest "shop"--Carpinteria Motor and Tire. After assessing the situation we realized we wouldn't be driving my van home! So, we had to take a taxi to the closest airport to get a rental car--Santa Barbara Airport. The boys loved it. They were singing made up songs in the taxi like, "We're going in a taxi, we're going in a taxi...for the first time!" Anyway, it was cute. The price however wasn't very cute! It was like $75 bucks to go 15 miles! Anyway, we rented a car and ended up home at about 11:00. (Monty never did make it to the grand opening. I felt bad, but at the same time I think it's ridiculous to expect him to do something like that after putting in a full days work.)

Poor girl! Car trouble is NEVER fun, but you always have such a great attitude. That will pull you through anything!
So... are these your grandparents in Fillmore that you'll be visiting? I'd love to know if you're just a little closer to me.
Sounds like a lot of fun!! My kids would have loved it too! I always feel sorry for people when I see them beside the road. I always say a little prayer of thanks it wasn't me as well.
Just an aside...If you have USAA make sure some of the costs aren't covered by your roadside assistance and if you have a platinum card/ world card I think I read they have some kind of traveler's insurance on there as well. It may cover auto trips as well as plane trips...?? I remember reading somewhere that if you are stuck they even pay for a room. Just a thought. :)
You really are a trooper...and so are your boys....it sounds like they had a blast though. Forget Knott's Berry Farm...just let them ride a cab for 20 mintues and they'd probably be perfectly happy!
Yep, a blessing in disguise I guess. I know how you feel about the car situation. It wasn't too long ago we were in the same boat. Glad you are getting it back.
Hey girly! I was just listening to some of the songs on your playlist! I like that "Take a Bow" song too! I am SO out of it when it comes to music. I used to know all the latest songs and who sings them...somehow that changed along the way these past 10 years or so...now I can sing the theme song to about every cartoon there is...:)
