Several years ago when this picture was taken I remember we all talked about how these three boys would do everything together and it's begun. They all just started Kindergarten!! Mammy wrote them all a cute poem to commemorate this moment. This is Kory's:
The Foolish Boy and the Wise Boy
There was a young boy name Abdul,
Who didn't like going to school.
So at home he did stay
To eat and to play
And became Old Abdul, the fat fool!
There once was a fella named Kory,
Who has quite a different story!
When he went to school,
He knew it was cool
To study and go for the glory!
Glad you're enjoying school Kory!!
And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the son of God, that ye must build your foundation. Heleman 5:12

Colorado Springs
When we moved a few weeks ago we left behind one of our belongings--Monty's car! However, Mammy and Grandpop were kind enough to drive it up here this weekend. We were excited to see them and had a wonderful time with them. We decided to take them to Colorado Springs to see a few things. First we took them to the Academy. Monty's old stomping grounds. We toured the campus. Kory enjoyed watching some of the hockey players practice. And I had to get a picture of Tyler by the TY. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. Monty said it was kind of surreal to be back at the academy. He told us some funny stories about the good old days! After the academy we went to "The Garden of the Gods". The sun was shinning so perfectly on the rocks the views were breathtaking. The boys enjoyed climbing on the rocks. Kyle was a wild man. This boy just took off when he saw a play area. He even found a secret hideout. I think he could live here and be happy.Trey was pretty fearless as well. We all held our breaths a few times as he climbed up and down the rocks, but he managed to get out with only a few scrapes. Makai wasn't so brave! Boys will be boys!We ended the day by having a buffalo burger! Grandpop really wanted to try one and we found the perfect place on the way home. Monty and Grandpop were the only ones brave enough to get buffalo burgers. I got buffalo nachos as they were easier to eat with Makai sleeping on my lap and Mammy got soup and salad. We tried the guys burgers, but were both glad we didn't get one. They were tasty, but HUGE!
What a great weekend we had. It went by SO fast, but was super fun. Thanks for the visit. And thanks Nana, the car looked better than I've ever seen it!;)

4, 2, K!
Another school year has officially begun. Yesterday was Tyler and Kyle's first day. They were super excited. The night before we went to their school to meet their teachers and find their classrooms, so they kind of knew what to expect. I have never seen a school set up like theirs is. The classrooms are all open. So, you don't have a room per say it's more like an area. The classroom are separated by bookshelves. We asked the teachers if this tends to get loud and they say that it surprisingly works. After school we asked the boys and they said it didn't bother them. Interestingly enough Kyle and Kory could scream out each others names and talk during school. Today was Kory's first day. I felt bad when he didn't get to go yesterday, but they broke the Kindergartners up for their first day and the first half of the alphabet went yesterday and the second half went today.
Kory was so ready for school! We picked out his outfit last night. He woke up this morning, got dressed, ate and even brushed his hair!! When I went to drop him off his brothers were so excited to have him with them. He walked right into class like he'd done it a million times before. I feel like I've arrived as a mother--I didn't even cry! Well, I did get chocked up, but I was mostly excited. He is prepared for Kindergarten. He knows his letters, can read pretty well. He's even good a basic math. Knowing that he's ready made it easier. Wow, our little guy is growing up. Okay, now I'm crying! Love you Kory! I'm glad your big day finally arrived!:)
Trey was pretty upset that he didn't get to go to school yesterday. He wore his backpack all day. We did a little preschool with him here at home. We worked on the letter 'T' which is a very important letter as it's the first one in his name. Today we made cookies during Makai's nap. He seems more content today just being in preschool. He says, "This house is my school!" I told him that was right. I think he's important enough to be his personal teacher. Time to get another kid ready for the world.

A Video
We thought we'd post a couple of videos that show the personalities of the boys. We love these boys so much. They are so full of personality. These videos show some of that.

Kory's Surprise!
Each of the boys have a favorite NFL Football team. Kory likes the Denver Broncos and it's his good fortune that we live in Colorado! Today we took a drive to Denver so Monty could look at a Medical school there. We took a tour and then drove around only to find the Denver Broncos practicing during a training camp! We drove in just to ask what was going on and they told us we could go watch if we wanted. So we got out and watched them practice for about an hour. During one of the sequences a ball was thrown right by us. The receiver #84 caught the ball and then had to run right in between Tyler and Kyle as he slowed down. This was such a highlight Tyler and Kyle may even switch teams before we leave Colorado. Afterward some of the players came over and the boys got autographs. Kory said, "I can't believe I got to watch my first Denver Broncos game today!" Makai and Dad. Two handsome guys enjoying practice.

Bitter Sweet!
Yesterday we registered the three older boys for a new school year. Kory is entering Kindergarten and needed a few booster shots! Can I say this boy was braver than brave during his shots. He didn't even cry!! He said it just felt like a bee sting or an ant bite. We were so proud we took him to get some ice cream. The time has also come that Makai is on the move! Before he would just do a butt-up or move backward...
but today he's moving forward!
He might be a reader in the future because he has been after Tyler's book all morning. We are proud of our little squeaker. That's something new he's doing too. Squeaking! It's a pretty annoying high pitched squeel. Poor guy at Sam's Club a few days ago was getting so frustrated. He had a hearing aid and everytime Makai would squeel he'd get an ear full. I couldn't helped but laugh, but then kindly walked him away till the man checked out. He squeels whenever we put him in his highchair. He KNOWS food is coming and wonders why it's not already there. We've had to start feeding him before prayer just to save our ears!

Big Changes!
After over a year and a half in California we have now moved yet again to the beautiful state of Colorado. We enjoyed our time in California being close to family. We thank Nana for letting us live with her and are very grateful for everything she's done for us. We are very thankful that our boys had a chance to live close to family. They are so blessed to know their grandparents/aunt and uncles/cousins. There were definitely mixed emotions as we drove away from our home and headed out to the unknown.
Monty drove the UHAUL and I followed in the van. I was really worried about Makai and how he'd do on the trip, but he did great! The one who had the hardest time would have to have been Trey! Poor guy. About one hour into the drive he told me, "Mom, I see Colorado!" Needless to say about three hours into the drive he was screaming, "I want to go home!" Poor kid. The other boys had been working for weeks to earn enough points to be able to play their Nintendo DS systems on the drive, so they were more than content for the drive to continue.
On day one we drove to Utah. We stopped in Saint George for dinner and to see Monty's Brother and our Sister in Law. We had a short, but sweet visit with them and then drove to my grandma's. We spent the following day with her. First thing in the morning the boys found a toad and the joy of the day continued from. As it was the same week as the year anniversary of my grandpas death I was super happy to go visit him at the cemetery and see his headstone. We enjoyed our day with grandma. We spent a few hours at the pool and the boys had a blast in the pool. So refreshing after a full day in the car. The following morning we began again to drive! We started driving at 5:00am and finished about 5:00pm. We were so happy to get out and stretch out legs. We had arranged to rent a house and the management company met us at the house at 5:00. We looked at the house, paid the needed amount and got the keys. It really couldn't have worked more perfectly. Since then we've been working on unpacking and enjoying our new town.
We told the boys months and months ago that we wanted to take them to Estes Park to feed the Chipmunks. We took Tyler once when he was our one and only and had such a fun time we wanted the other boys to experience it. Wednesday we took a day off from packing and drove to the mountains for a day of fun. It was oh so fun!! You started by going up an aerial tram about 1100ft to the top of Prospect Mountain. The view at the top is incredible!! When we arrived we got some peanuts and started looking for some chipmunks to feed. Trey so so funny. He would get so excited and chase the chipmunks so they kept running away. He got so tired of waiting for them that he decided to just eat the peanuts. We had to separate Trey from the other boys. They were having no luck with Trey around. However, once we separated the fun began. Tyler was awesome. The kid had a whole system down. I started sending boys over by him one at a time and he was helping them feed the chipmunks. He was so thoughtful of the other boys making sure they each left happy. Kory was super sad because he'd only fed one, but Tyler took him over by a bush(part of his whole strategy) and Kory fed this chipmunk for quiet some time.
He even managed to help Trey feed a few! He was so excited after a chipmunk would take his peanut he'd make the cutest excited face ever. Monty found a pretty cute chipmunk to feed!:) The funny thing was after Makai slobbered on this peanut the chipmunks wouldn't have anything to do with it. We had a wonderful afternoon. Oh, and would you believe that on the trip down the gondola it started snowing!! Yep, that's Colorado for you. The weather can change in a matter of seconds from warm and sunny to not so warm and sunny. We left when the lighting and thunder started. On the way home we stopped at, "The Dam Store--The Best Store By a Dam Site" and got some Buffalo Jerky, Alligator Jerky and Elk Jerky. Fun Times!
This week is back to reality. We have to sign the boys up for school, Monty is headed to the library to study, and well...I'm doing more unpacking. We are happy to be here and are settling in slowly but surely.
