Bubble bath

Because Tyler had such bad eczema when he was little I couldn't give him bubble baths, so I never got into the habit of buying it. The other day at the store Makai said, "Mom, can I have a bubble bath?"  It dawned on me the poor kid had never had had one.  So, per his request:
Makai loved making his arms look like he had huge muscles.
Trey got in on the action too:

Now they can't say they never got to take a bubble bath--it just took a while.  It was fun to watch them play.  Being a kid is awesome.

Kyle's shirt

Kyle was asked by his teacher to draw the design for the Coyote Crawl t-shirt this year.  The school is trying to earn enough money to buy a rock wall for the school.  He did a great job.  A nice farewell for his last year of elementary school!

Trey's Bike

Last week I noticed that Trey has become excellent at riding his scooter.  He can balance well, maneuver through small spaces and has gained confidence.  Friday I told him that Saturday we were going to put him on a bike because he was ready!  He was pretty excited.  Saturday morning after breakfast we went outside and began the task.  For the first two seconds Trey was excited.  Then he said it was scary and different from his scooter.  Every move he made was filled with why he would never be able to ride a bike and it was harder than he thought it was going to be.  WE(I) decided we needed to take a break and he could ride his scooter for a while.  After riding his scooter for a while he came back to me excited to try his bike again.  Once on his bike he would again begin to cry and whine!  This happened several times.  I finally told him maybe he wasn't as ready as I thought he was and he should just go back to his scooter.  He did, but again he came and asked if we could try his bike again.  I explained everything to him and then I explained that it was okay to learn!  After I had time to cool off and think about things I told him the truth--that I knew he could do it, but HE needed to believe he could do it.  I told him if he continued to tell himself he couldn't do it, he was right!  But, if he started telling himself he could do it, he was Right!!  Trey struggles when things are hard.  However, he is a master rider!  It took about an hour total(not including breaks) for him to learn.  Now, he wants to ride every moment he can!  He loves it more than he loves his scooter and is enjoying his new found freedom.  A great lesson in never giving up and in the importance of believing in yourself!! Great job TREY!!!
