Kory's last day of Kindergarten

Kory is done with Kindergarten! He had a great day at school. Poor kid wasn't feeling well, but since it was the last day of school and they were doing a PJ day he wanted to go. He had an awesome day, but has been in bed ever since he got home. He said his head hurts. I feel so bad for him.
He did have a great 1st year of school. He LOVED his teacher, Mrs. Kimball and she was a perfect fit for his personality. He exceeded our expectations this year. His reading is amazing. In fact, at night now during scripture study he can usually read his verses without help! We are excited to see your growth next year in 1st grade
p.s as you can see Kory is now a toothless wonder. His second front tooth feel out on Sunday. He is loving it.

Our 4th is 4!!

It's hard to believe Trey is 4. He's such a fun kid. This morning when I saw him he said, "Mom, I'm 4!" and ran up and gave me a hug. I'm not going to sugar coat things either, he tests my patience, but he's so worth it.

Some of Trey's idiosyncrasy's that I don't want to forget: Trey loves his shoes TIGHT. The velcro can't go any tighter and I constantly have to resew the velcro back onto his shoes because of this strange neurosis . If they aren't tight he throws a fit. The second we get home his shoes and socks come off. He also loves his pants TIGHT. If his pants aren't tight enough he'll cry or go change, usually changing into a pair of pants or shorts and don't match his shirt. This drives me mad. His underwear also need to be tight. He can usually be heard screaming that he doesn't enjoy 'wiggling'. He's not the best eater, but if I feed him he eats great! He loves fruit. We usually fight over him eating too many craisins or raisins. Applesauce is another favorite. He's really good at saying sorry if he knows what he did was inappropriate. He loves to play with tinkertoys and turn them into swords. He loves ice cream, whip cream, and the filling of oreo's. He'll usually eat the inside of an oreo and leaves the cookie part. If he gets cake and ice cream he'll just eat the ice cream. He likes me to tuck him in at night. For dinner he choose Pizza and we made an ice cream cake together this morning. Oh, and he's a great older brother! He is so good to Makai. He'll even let Makai ride on his back like a horse(Makai's favorite). trey loves to talk! When he's 'on one' as we put, it I don't even know if he takes a breath. He loves to make up stories and say that he dreamed them. We love you Trey. It's been a wonderful 4 yrs and we look forward to many, many more.

Update!

I realized today that it's been too long since I've taken pictures of my boys. In fact, I never took Makai's 1yr pictures and he's almost 1 and a half. Anyway, here are a few of the photos I took today.
Tyler, 10, favorite color: yellow.Kyle, 8, favorite color: green.
Kory, 6, favorite color: every color but pink and purple.Trey, almost 4, favorite color: all colors.Makai loved getting his picture taken! I thought it was going to be horrible, but he was such a ham! It wasn't till I saw his pictures that I realized how old he is getting.

Thank goodness for cameras!

Jose

Last night we decided last minute to bbq. Trey was asleep in the car so Monty went into the store with Tyler and Kory and came out with this, a.k.a JOSE. The boys all had very different reactions to Jose. Makai just looked and looked at him trying to figure out what he was, but after a while he could even say, "Lobster". Kory was very hands on. He took to the Lobster rather well and was excited about the idea of cooking it, but that shouldn't have surprised us because he does want to be a chef.

Kyle had the hardest time with the idea. He wasn't in the store when Monty got Jose and the thought of killing the lobster was too much for him. He had a breakdown. Poor kid--he is our tender hearted animal lover. Monty had to explain to him that it was okay for him to have those feelings and also that it was okay for us to cook the Lobster. After the talk Kyle did a lot better.

Tyler made Jose an origami party hat! So Tyler! Kyle thought this was cruel and said, "Tyler you are like a Nazi. You shouldn't make fun of something you are about to kill."

Monty wanted me to do the honors, so sure Kyle now thinks I'm a murdered. I do feel kind of bad that I only felt a little bad putting that bad boy in the water. What have I become?

I'd had to say Jose looked mighty beautiful when he was cooked. These are a few of the comments said when it was time to eat him.

Monty: "Okay, so how do we eat this guy?"

Trey: "Can I have Cheerios?"

Kory: "Where is the chicken?"

Tyler: "Can I have the claw?"

Kyle: "Tyler stop playing with the claw, that's disrespectful."

For the record: Tyler and KYLE both ate a claw which was a true sacrifice because I wanted a claw!! Monty and I ate the tail, but sorry Jose...we decided crab is better.

It was sure an experience we will never forget. Monty did make chicken and a few pieces of steak that were super good. A night that will go down in history at the Salanoa home. Dad's always full of surprises.
