Night out with the Girls!

So, a few months ago some of the girls I use to teach in Young Women when we lived in Cheyenne moved here for school.  We had them over for dinner to catch up.  It's so fun to talk to these girls as they are now Women!  To make a long story short the Twilight saga got brought up and we had a good laugh about it.  About a month ago they asked me if I'd like to go with them to the mid-night showing of Breaking Dawn.  Now if you know me you know that I don't do things like this!  I'm so, well, boring(lack of a better word).  However, Monty told me he thought I should go!  I got up the courage and told them yes.  Kim, the one on the right, found these shirts for us to wear!  She's so funny!  Before the movie we wrote "Team Jacob" on the back of them.  I know it's confusing as Edward is the Vampire, but they didn't have "I Love Werewolfs" shirts.  I didn't mind because I kinda root for both guys, but the movie Jacob is more handsome than the movie Edward.  Anyway, we left about 10pm and waited for the 12:02 movie showing.  I had a blast with these girls.  It was fun to have a girls night out.

Makai 2yr visit!

So, next month Makai will be 2!  He had his appointment a little early because he hasn't been to the doctor since he was 6 months old, but since he was behind on shots they saw him early!  What we found out about Makai:  Makai is a big kid!  He's 3 feet tall putting him at 97% in height!  His head circumference is also 97%.  He still weighs 30lbs(same thing he's weighed for about a year now) putting him at 92% in weight.  He wasn't too sure about being touched at the doctors office, but did fine if I held him.  However, the funniest part was when he got his shots.  Okay, so it was sad, because he cried both out of confusion and pain, but I loved when the nurse was done and I picked him up to hug him he just looked down at the band-aid, grabbed it, pulled it off and threw it on the ground!  He wanted nothing to do with the band-aid! When we came home I gave him lunch and he look a 4 hour nap!  Trama!!  We feel very blessed that he is doing great and after next month he'll be caught up on shots.  Can't believe he is going to be 2!!

Tyler loves Science!

So, Tyler is a Science kid.  I'd say it's his favorite subject in school.  Right now they are learning about the human body and how it works, the different parts...etc.  This week he got to dissect a lamb heart. Some students from CSU came and helped the various groups.  He loved it.  The funniest part was he said a girl in his group passed out right after the dissection!  I guess another girl caught her halfway down so she didn't get hurt.  Later in the week he got to dissect an owl pellet.  He found two mouse skulls in his pellet.  He loved every second.  On Saturday while he was at the eye doctor getting a new pair of glasses because Makai broke his other pair, the doctor had never heard of an owl pellet so he got to tell her all about it.  He likes to be the teacher.  I find him every once in a while explaining to Kory why something does what it does in the human body.  I must agree...it is amazing!

Sick Kyle--blessing!

Kyle got sick Saturday night.  I must give the kids credit.  He's always been able to make it to the toilet from a very young age because being sick grosses him out!  Saturday night I was up trying to help him and started gagging.  He said, "Mom are you getting sick?"  I said, "No, just when someone is sick it kind of grosses me out."  He said, "I understand.  Thanks mom."  So, he stayed home from church Sunday, but seemed fine all day.  So yesterday I sent him to school.  He was fine.  Then last night at dinner he said he didn't want to eat.  I asked him if he was afraid to eat and he said yes.  I assured him he was better, but didn't press the issue.  Kyle is an eater so I knew if he were hungry enough he'd eat.  Well, sure enough last night he got sick again.  Poor kid.   So, I let him stay home from school today.  He is doing fine and Trey is in Heaven!  Kyle is such a sweet kid and since he's really better this time he is playing away with Trey the way Trey wishes I would play everyday!  This is Trey's dream come true.  I think it's a good bonding experience for the two of them.  I might start keeping one of the older boys home everyday!  I'll just rotate them!:)

Halloween Videos

Trick or treating was so fun this year.  Makai didn't quite get it at first.  This was his first house.  He walked right in!!  He cracked us up the whole night.  He'd say Hello to each person and then say Trick of Treat.  Sometimes he'd ask for more. " More Please."  The funny part was people obeyed him!!!  He got so much candy! I guess we have to give him credit, because he was very polite and would always say "Thank you Bud." when he'd leave a house until he got to the next house.  If you listen carefully to the second video you can hear him do just that.  Kids are great.  We love our kids!
