You gotta love when kids come home with projects due the next day! Trey missed school all last week because he was sick. He threw up at school the Tuesday before and was still sick by Friday. Poor kid. It was not a fun week. He went back to school on Monday and brought home a paper that informed me that he had a project on Martin Luther King, due Tuesday. The other students had worked on it the whole week prior, but since he got sick he didn't know about it.
All I can say is THANK GOODNESS for the INTERNET! I have no idea what we would have done without it. Okay, I know...we would have gone to the library, but it was about 5 degrees outside and I wasn't in the mood to leave the house with all the kids. So, we found some fun facts online, printed out some pictures and with dad picking up a poster board on the way home we were able to finish before 9 o-clock!
Today the 1st graders did a little WAX museum. They all dressed up as their 'PEACEMAKER' and stood in front of their poster. Each kid wore a sticker on their hand that acted as their 'button'. When you pressed their 'button' they came to life and told you a fun fact about their particular 'peacemaker'. It was pretty fun.
Trey was Martin Luther King Jr. When you pushed his button he said, "I am Martin Luther King Jr. I helped change segregation laws." He was pretty cute.
Kids were dressed up as Albert Einstein, Abraham Lincoln, Rosa Parks, Gandhi, Helen Keller, Nelson Mandela....and others.
After it was over and I was walking to the car I asked Makai what he'd learned and he said, "I learned how to press buttons!" He always makes me laugh!
And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the son of God, that ye must build your foundation. Heleman 5:12

First Tooth!
Trey finally lost his first tooth! Our boys are so funny. None of them will wiggle a tooth. They just want it to magically fall out. Trey was no exception! He has complained for about two days saying it hurts to eat. This morning before school he wouldn't eat breakfast and was starting to get pretty frustrated. I knew it was because he was hungry, but he didn't want to eat because it hurt to eat. I didn't want to send him to school without eating and knowing he wouldn't eat lunch either. Thankfully, I convinced him to let me pull his tooth out. I LOVE to pull teeth out! He was so worried, but we just numbed the area and I pulled. Out it came. Here is his new smile!
