And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the son of God, that ye must build your foundation. Heleman 5:12

Field Trip
Yesterday Tyler and Kyle both went on a field trip to see the play 'Ferdinand the Bull'. For Kyle it was his first time on a school bus, so he was pretty excited. When I picked him up from school I asked him, "So, Kyle how was your first trip on a school bus?" Kyle, "Great, except Mondo feel asleep on me twice. But you know what I did. After the teacher woke him up I told him he was still asleep and dreaming. He was really confused!" Typical Kyle! What a joker. I love this boy! He's always good for a laugh.

New calling
Wednesday night the Stake President called and said he wanted to meet with us. Yeah, needless to say it wasn't the best night's sleep we've ever had. On Thursday night we met with him and he called Monty to be 2nd Counselor in the Bishopric. We were totally caught off guard, but when the Lord asks...we serve right. Today he was called/set apart and now the real fun begins. Congrats sweetheart. Love ya.

Flooded bathroom!
So, tonight Tyler baptized our bathroom! We were having spaghetti for dinner and Tyler spilled on his white shirt, so I told him to take it off and go get some water on it to get it soaking. About 5 minutes (maybe more)later my mother in law said, "Is that the water in your bathroom running?" I asked Tyler if he'd accidentally left the water on and he said, "No, I left it on because you told me to soak my shirt." Needless to say when we walked back to the bathroom it was immersed in about 2 inches of water...some places more! We grabbed towels and started cleaning. So funny. Tyler said, "I can't wait to tell my class about this tomorrow." Oh the one hand I was frustrated by the whole thing, but by and large I was proud of him for taking it so well. Sometimes our boys make mistakes and beat themselves up. This time Tyler realized it was just an accident and everything would dry. For the record it was Kory and Trey's dream come true! Kory walked in and started jumping around and then Trey walked in laughing and stomping saying, "Puddle splash!" If I was kinder I would have let them play, but I made them leave. Funny and crazy day! See Michelle...you aren't the only one!:)
Easter Weekend 2009
Saturday April 11th is a day we will never forget. It started off with a 'Peterson Family' Easter Egg hunt and lunch at a park in Loma Linda. The boys had so much fun with their cousins hunting eggs playing.
Trey came running across the grass saying, "Look mom my egg." over and over. This kid just makes my heart melt! What a long run he endured just to show me his egg!
Kory gave me his winner smile after finding his first egg!
Kyle was another story! Getting a picture of him was so hard! They said hunt and the boy was off!! I finally got a picture of him by yelling at him to slow down!! He's full of fun!
Tyler spent his entire hunt helping Trey find eggs! He really enjoyed it I think because every time I told him it was okay he could hunt for himself he said it was okay he was helping Trey.
Later that afternoon was the moment we've been waiting for for 8 years. Tyler's baptism! What a fun afternoon. I'm so thankful Monty baptized him. This was really special for both of them. Monty doesn't remember who baptized him. In fact, we have a picture of it, but he has no idea who the guy is, so I think to be able to baptize your son has to more than special for him as well as Tyler.
Doesn't he look so handsome!
Trey came running across the grass saying, "Look mom my egg." over and over. This kid just makes my heart melt! What a long run he endured just to show me his egg!

Monty took this picture in the changing room. I wanted a picture of him all wet!
Tyler was really excited for this day and said to me later that night, "Mom, I'm glad I decided to get baptized. You know it was really an easy decision. If I didn't get baptized I couldn't be with my family forever and that is what I want most." So wise! We are so proud of you Tyler!

He had a great turn out for his baptism. All my brothers were there and their wives and kids, both sets of grandparents, a great uncle from Monty's side and his daughters, as well as Monty's brother TJ and his wife Dora. Thanks everyone for making Tyler's day so special. We love and appreciate all you do for us!!

Anatolian Festival
My mom teaches English to students from all over the world. One of her students this quarter is from Turkey and invited her to a Turkish Festival where someone who isn't from Turkey could learn and experience life in Turkey. This week was the boys last week of break and when she told us about it we jumped at the offer. We all had such a great time and learned so much.

Thanks for the Awesome day mom!!
A reconstruction of the Trojan Horse.
They recreated several historical landmarks that one would find in Turkey.
This is a church in Istanbul called the Aya Sofia, built in 537 AD. I had to put this picture on here because see the guy on the right...yeah, he took a picture of us and laughed the whole time...so now I have proof he was stocking us in case I ever need it!:)
This bridge is called the Fatih bridge and it connects Asia to Europe. Did you know Istanbul is the only city to straddle two continents.
For lunch we had doner kabab's. The meat was so good!!
My mom and I had these drinks called Ayran that her student suggested we get. Basically it was a yogurt drink and lets just say...it wasn't as good as the sandwich, but my mom spent $4 on mine so I was determined to finish it!! I laughed a couple of times in the process...mostly at my moms face while she was trying to drink hers and at my boys who tried to sneak sips of mine and then regreted it...but I finished it!(my mom didn't.)
A home in Turkey...the kids have to sit on the floor while the adults sit in chairs. I found this funny because at least in Turkey the kids get pillows. This is common is Samoan homes too, but the kids don't get pillows:) . They also remove their shoes as a form of respect when they enter a home.
A Turkish Marching band.(I wouldn't run out and get a cd, but it was interesting.)
Notice the guy in the background...a Whirling Dervish. This guy was crazy he just stood in a circle and whirled forever!! It's a crazy thing to watch...let me tell you. I guess it is a ritual that was started as a form of respect of Ala or a religious practice. Anyway, the boys thought it was cool and they kept calling him Sala or something like that...a guy on Indiana Jones?
The boys also got a chance to play! Kyle saw this thing and knew exactly what to do, but no one would fight him.
Kory did try, but had trouble getting it off the ground.
They did have a fun time going down the slide...or should I say Kyle and Tyler had fun...Kory tolerated it! I LOVE this picture!

Thanks for the Awesome day mom!!
