Christmas-2010

What an awesome Christmas we had. The boys were so fun this year because they each have a personality and interests. Santa knew just what the boys wanted which made for a fun morning.
Santa only left half a cookie. Trey isn't afraid of germs..he ate it! On Thanksgiving Tyler was introduced to the Rubik's Cube. He fell in love and that's what he wanted. I know he looks bored, but he's just deep in thought learning how to do the puzzle.
Kyle wanted a skateboard...I let him ride in the kitchen on Christmas, but now he's gotta keep it outside.
Kory is really into drawing these days and wanted a drawing book. He's already drawn a few of these cartoons and does an amazing job.
Trey loves to play with action figures. He carries them around everywhere. Now he has ironman and friends.Aunt Cindy made all the boys beanies for Christmas in their favorite colors. Makai sporting his.
After opening Santas gifts we had a wonderful breakfast made by Monty. Then we opened the other gifts. I was so involved I didn't even get out my camera, but the boys loved everything they got from cousins, and grandparents. Thank you!! We spent the afternoon at the park where Tyler played with his new basketball and Kyle got to really use his skateboard. We had a great time. Monty beat Tyler and me in a game of basketball and he even had Makai half the game. Oh well, it was still fun. There is a reason basketball players are tall. My goodness we didn't have a chance. We had Ribs and bak choy for dinner.
It was a day I'd love to relive!

Museum

After dropping my parents off at the airport we decided to go to the Museum of Nature and Science. In our house this could be named the 'Museum of Heaven on Earth'. One of the first exhibits was a gems and crystals exhibit. Kyle was in...well...HEAVEN!!
Tyler found out his birthstone is the state gem. He was pretty excited to learn that.I don't know why, but I think Moose are cool! I had to get a picture of it. Again, not sure why I like this beast...but I do. I HATE snakes but thought this was a cute picture. They had an exhibit about the Amazon.(thought of you Erik.) All I know is if I EVER run across one of these bad boys I sure hope I have ALL these boys with me!!
Makai enjoying his freedom! He loves to walk around, but won't keep socks or shoes on. Thanks Mammy and Grandpop for the birthday gift. Freedom was his at this exhibit without the fear of every known virus on the planet on his feet.
Kyle in another part of heaven. Kory being a deer. Thanks for a fun day boys. So glad you enjoy this earth and all it's wonders.

Mammy--Grandpop's visit

Mammy and Grandpop were brave enough to come stay with us for a few days. We had such a great time with them. They arrived Sunday night and we stayed up and talked for a while. The boys had things they wanted to show them and Makai was eager to show off his new skill. Yes, this is him at the top of the stairs. He showed off how he can come down on his own. He's just one of the guys now! Monday we decided to explore down town. It was fun, but a little cold.
Trying to get warm I suggested we go into one of the stores and we found some super fun stuff. My dad bought a few of them just to be nice. He got the boys an owl ornament which is the new favorite. He bought some Artichoke soup which I wanted to try and was pretty tasty and this was popcorn still on the cob. We were all excited to see the popcorn cob after we cooked it. I'll also say the popcorn was great too...very fresh tasting.Tuesday we spent the morning taking a walk and then headed to the park at the boys school. We decided to come home when Trey and Makai had purple hands(I wish I was kidding)! Poor Grampop had to carry Makai home because at that point he was done with his stroller. He put him to sleep, but I think he might have thrown his back out in the process. For the record however, it was Makai's best nap...maybe ever!! Then we went to see Tangled which we all LOVED. That night they were so kind as to watch the boys so we could do some last minute Christmas shopping. While we were out Mammy decided to test Makai's IQ. From what I hear he passed.Wednesday was their last day here and the boys told us we needed to take them somewhere awesome. We decided to head up to the mountains to find some snow. It was actually warmer in the snow than in the city(not that it was bask in the sun in your flip flops warm or anything, but it wasn't bad).Trey decided he wanted to make a snowman, and as he's never made one before I was a sport about it. Thankfully, he was easily pleased.
Snow FIGHT!!
Watch out...Kory was armed big time!!Even Grandpop got in on the action...thankfully he decided to be nice. Then Tyler and Kyle decided they wanted to build a snowman. My mom ordered me to take her gloves. Once I did, it was a lot more fun. Let that be a lesson to us all...our mothers are wise! Then Kory and I made another snowman...oh wait correction...we made a snow woman!! He gave her a flower and everything.
On the way home I said to Monty, I actually had a lot of fun building snowmen with the boys. He laughed and said, "Yeah, lots of fun." Poor guy...he had Makai the whole time. That wouldn't have been so fun. Keeping that boy off the cold ground was the real work. Thanks honey!
We had a fun evening at home with hot chocolate and french bread and woke up early to take them to the airport. The few days they were here went so fast. We enjoyed them so much. Thanks again for the visit and being so easy to please. We love you.

Makai's 1!

Makai is officially 1! I can't believe it. He had a super fun birthday. Well, I must say the best part of the day was when we had cupcakes. (Our family NEVER finishes a cake, so I didn't even bother. I just made 12 cupcakes.) Makai was VERY excited to get his cupcake. In fact, this picture was taken while we were singing. He couldn't wait...AH...much better!!Ensuring he got every last piece of his cupcake. Happy Birthday Makai!! We love you!!
Makai is a total handful right now. He is walking like a champ and has no trouble getting into anything and everything he wants to. His favorite thing to play with is the Tupperware while I'm cooking, food of any kind, oh...and he loves balls. I got him a ball for his birthday and he was totally excited about it all night. If anyone else tried to play with it he screamed. He's been screaming a lot lately. A sign of his strong will. I was relieved to have the 1st year under our belts, but now I'm remembering what age 1 brings...wish us luck. Oh, and he can say "Dada" in fact he said it all through Sacrament meeting today!:)

Tender Heart!

Sometimes the things our kids do just melt my heart! Today Kyle came home from school very excited. He unzipped his backpack and pulled out a book for Kory, a book for Trey, and a rubber ducky for Makai. I asked him where he got them and he said, "Well, I got to pick out three prizes today as AR rewards and I decided to get things for the brothers." So thoughtful. His middle name "Fatumalosi" means "strong heart", but sometimes I think we should have named him "tender heart". So proud of you Kyle. That was very selfless to think about your brothers. Makai enjoyed his ducky very much tonight in the bath. I was going to get a picture but then saw that his lower lip was doing that quiver thing because he was cold and I had to get him out.

EHD

Monty had a group presentation in his Virology class this week. Their group was given the disease 'EHD' which is spread from Midge(kind of like a Mosquito) to Deer! The group was partially graded on originality, so Monty came up with a rap. He wanted to be a deer and I am happy to report I could finally help him with a school project. Yeah, these antlers are more my level--thanks to Kindergarten! Anyway, it was rapped to "Gangsters Paradise":

"As I walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death, I take a look at my herd and realize theres nothing left.
Cuz I've been bleeding and Coughin' so long that even the stinkin' Midge that made me sick is gone.
But I ain't never met a deer that did survive it. EHD be punkin' me like Ashton Critcher on TV.
You best watch where you're walking, and where you're drinkin' or you and your herd me be lyin' in chalk.
I really hate to trip, but I gotta look as I grew I see myself in the pistol smoke, fool!
I'm the kind of G that little fawns want to be like. On my knees in the night saying prayers to the headlights.
Chorus:
I've been spending most my life living in the midges paradise. Been spending most my life living in the midges paradise.
Tell me why can't I kill this midge, for soon I will be in Dr. Quackinbushes fridge."

I must say honey...you even make antlers look good!
